Registration opens October 2 and closes at 2:00 p.m. MST the day before the sale — bidders need a completed W-9 and bank account on file before bidding is enabled, since all payment runs through ACH only.

Colorado's rate is set annually at 9 points above the federal discount rate (14% for the 2025 cycle) and doesn't get bid down — instead, competition happens through a cash premium bid on top of the lien, which isn't returned with interest if the lien redeems, only the face amount is. Routt's own sale page also flags a recent Colorado law requiring a secondary auction after a certificate holder applies for a treasurer's deed, specifically to make sure the original owner gets fair value if the property is actually deeded.
