Larimer County holds its 2026 tax lien sale in person on November 19 at the Thomas McKee 4-H Community Building at the Larimer County Fairgrounds in Loveland — registration opens at 7:30 a.m., premium bidding at 8:30 a.m. Bidding order is seated and sequential: a randomly-drawn bidder goes first, then it proceeds seat by seat, with each bidder able to accept or pass on parcels above the county's premium threshold.
Same underlying structure as Routt County's online sale — Colorado sets the rate annually (9 points over the federal discount rate, 14% for the 2025 cycle; the 2026 rate is set September 1) and it isn't bid down. Competition instead happens through cash premium bids on top of the lien, and that premium isn't returned with interest if the owner redeems — only the certificate's face amount is. Certificates cancel automatically after fifteen years if never acted on.
