Eastland County, TX
In-person courthouse-steps sale, on-site registration only
Eastland County holds its delinquent-tax sale on the courthouse steps on September 1, conducted through the law firm MVBA — the sole county on MVBA's September sale calendar this round. Registration is on-site the day of the sale; there's no advance online registration for this one, unlike some Texas counties that route through GovEase or RealAuction instead.
Texas doesn't sell tax lien certificates — the winning bidder takes a deed directly, but the prior owner keeps a statutory right to redeem: two years for a homestead, agricultural, or mineral-interest property, 180 days for everything else. If they do redeem, the investor is paid the winning bid back plus a flat 25% premium in year one (50% in year two) — not annualized interest, a flat premium regardless of how fast it's redeemed.
Before you bid: Payment is due same-day in cash or cashier's check, and the deed conveys "without warranty" — exact parcel list, opening bids, and any last-minute changes should be confirmed directly with the Eastland County Tax Collector before the sale.
