TaxLien.io tracks tax lien and tax deed auctions across US counties — statutory interest rates, redemption periods, and confirmed sale dates, sourced from state statute and public county auction notices.

The site is early and independently built, not backed by a brokerage or investment firm. We'd rather cover fewer states accurately than all fifty with numbers we haven't checked — that's why the state coverage on this site grows gradually instead of claiming completeness on day one, and why every rate and date links back to how it was sourced.

Methodology

Every state page starts from primary sources, not aggregator sites: the actual statute text (via each state legislature's own site, or Justia/FindLaw as a mirror), backed up by the county or state treasury/tax-collector page that runs the sale in practice. Where those two disagree — statute says one thing, the county's own auction notice says another — we flag it in the write-up rather than picking one silently.

A state only gets a page here if investors can actually buy in. That's a real filter, not a formality: Wisconsin, for example, isn't covered, because the county keeps the certificate itself instead of selling it to outside investors — it doesn't fit what this site is for, no matter how complete a "50-state" claim would look.

Rates and redemption windows change — new legislative sessions, county-level procedural shifts, courts ruling on how surplus proceeds get handled. When we catch a change (Louisiana's full system overhaul in January 2026 is a recent example), the page gets updated and the "what changed" gets called out explicitly rather than quietly overwritten. Who's behind this

TaxLien.io is built and maintained by Eric Rodriguez. It's a solo, independently-funded project — no brokerage, no fund, no affiliate arrangement with any auction platform. Eric also built LaborIA, an AI-powered platform helping workers in Spain understand real salary data, read their payslips, and negotiate pay — same underlying approach: real source data over marketing numbers, and features that stay labeled "coming soon" until they're actually real.

What we're building toward

Today, TaxLien.io is a reference: state rate data, a market pulse of real upcoming auctions, and plain-language guides to how the process actually works. The roadmap includes a full auction calendar, CSV and API export, and redemption tracking — features we've labeled honestly as "coming soon" rather than pretending they already exist.
